The first three sites listed are in Abkhazia, de facto republic separate from Georgia since 1993, indeed since the defeat at the Georgian August 2008 war. Nothing in the atlas, not a card or a line, not to suggest that all these places, memories of the best holidays of the years 1970 or 80, are nearly 20 years inaccessible to Georgians.
On the country's main highway from Tbilisi to go west, the great leadership shown on all panels is Sokhoumi. Nothing suggests that in reality we can not get there by car from this side of the Caucasus.
In Georgia, everything is presented as if was still in Abkhazia Georgia, ostensibly as if they wanted to ward off the brutal truth. Yet if de jure, the world refuses to endorse military reality, with the exception of Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Nauru (awarded without hiding a large sum of money to recognize the territories separatists in Georgia), de facto, everybody knows somewhere that Tbilisi has a very small chance of power in the near future send his bathers on the beaches Abkhaz. Nobody is fooled, but nobody can afford to own it without a traitor to the nation.
Car to Tbilisi, we still dream of reclaiming the breakaway Abkhazian capital, whether one is native or not. The how is not important. This BMW on behalf of Sokoumi with the cross of Bolnisi, Georgia cross national, has more than a little sister parked in the Georgian capital and that as she launches an appeal to the reconquest of lost territory.
